ACT Africa is dedicated to Saving Lives through Awareness and Education. Our Focus is to prevent and break the vicious cycles of Gender-Based Violence and Human Trafficking, reducing the statistics. We raise awareness and education about Human Trafficking and Gender-Based Violence, providing basic assistance to victims and creating campaigns focused on prevention. Join us in our mission to bring about positive change in Africa & Globally.

About Act Africa's trustees
Hilary Leong
Hilary’s award-winning humanitarian journey began in her teens, shaped by her parents’ anti-apartheid activism and both personal experience and a deep empathy for vulnerable communities and feels that it is a calling from God and as such is heeding to that call, as God wills. Having survived an abduction at the age of 13, she transformed her trauma into a lifelong mission to protect others. Before 2015, Hilary served on the management boards of centres supporting vulnerable women. Since 2015, she has been actively engaged in counter‑trafficking efforts, conducting rescue searches for missing children and leading advocacy campaigns across Africa. Hilary also mentors’ children in shelters, board director of a few foundations, and inspires audiences as a certified Motivational/Inspirational Speaker, Master Life-Coach (Master NLP Practitioner) & Entrepreneur. Her leadership has earned global recognition, including honours from Global Woman London, Panache Gauteng, and Africa Continental Network’s 100 Global Impact Personalities. She is also serving as SouthAfrica Convenor for UNODC UNTOC SE4U Alliance.
Matthew Mensah
Matthew is an international award-winning PR and campaign strategist who over the last 12 years have done campaigns for governments, United Nations agencies and the private sector. When moving back to West Africa, Matthew was drawn to help children less fortunate & started self-funded programs that quickly got the eye of Governments and the United Nations.
Matthew began to work on campaigns such as Polio, Malaria & Orphanage campaigns which led to the life-changing Stop Child Hunger & Peace campaign in Liberia and Sierra Leone.
He is the concept creator of using African Stars for campaigns in Africa which together with UNWFP made the peace campaigns in Liberia such a huge success, bringing in his celebrity friends to help create awareness which became a trademark for many campaigns over the years.
To date, he has done campaigns in over 12 countries and behind some of the biggest Humanitarian and social justice campaigns across the continent from Stop Child Trafficking to Justice For Miners.
